Leaning Path of the Week: Haiku Poetry
Digital Path Creator: David Hinrichs

Today’s Learning Path of the Week was created by elementary school teacher, David Hinrichs. This learning path is suitable for 6th through 8th grade students who are learning about writing, reading and poetry.

Haikus originated in Japan and traditionally evoke images of the natural world. In this lesson, students will learn what makes a poem a haiku, and then will complete the lesson by creating their own haiku. This assignment should take students 20 minutes. Check it out!
